Beloit Turner School

School District of Beloit Turner

The School District of Beloit Turner is recognized as a district of choice with approximately 33% of its total enrollment of 1,650 consisting of open enrollment students. Beloit Turner prides itself on educating students in a medium size district while providing educational programming and extracurricular activities rarely seen in districts its size.

The district consists of 4 buildings on three sites conveniently located within 1 mile of each other. Powers Elementary serves students in EC-1st grade. The recently opened Garden Prairie Intermediate School serves students in grades 2-5. Turner Middle School and Turner High School are on a shared campus serving students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 respectively. For those interested in virtual learning, Beloit Turner is a participating member of the JEDI Virtual School. JEDI is a consortium of districts whose membership allows students to take a wide range of online curricular offerings both while attending our schools in person, or in a completely immersed virtual experience.

The Board of Education has aligned our strategic plan to focus on three important areas: Whole Student Focus, Public Trust and Communication, and High Quality Staff. Our vision statement is concise in saying that ALL students should be Career, College, and Life Ready. We offer a large variety of Advanced Placement coursework and numerous collaborations with local colleges and universities for completion of advanced college credit or standing. We are also very proud of our business partnerships that have led to opportunities for students in programs such as Craftsman with Character and a large variety of Youth Apprenticeship placements. We have recently renovated and expanded our STEAM area at the middle/high school to bring state of the art technology and machining to our students in order to enhance their career focus and opportunities.

The Beloit Turner School District understands the importance of a strong music program and quality extra-curricular programming for students. The School District of Beloit Turner Board of Education approved a four year implementation plan of purchasing band instruments for families to use instruments through the district, rather than paying costly rental fees to private instrument providers. This commitment allows families to save significantly by renting at a minimal fee through the district and eliminate any financial barriers restricting students from their love of music. We also offer a variety of middle and high school choirs for our students.

We are also proud of our extensive extracurricular offerings. Students enrolled in the Turner School District have access to thirteen varsity sports including: Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Dance, Football, Golf, Hockey, Soccer (girls),Softball, Track. Volleyball (girls), and Wrestling. We also offer a competitive eSports program.

Beloit Turner students also have access to a variety of other activities including: Art Club, Academic Decathlon, Book Club, DECA, Drama Club, Forensics, Jazz Ensemble, Math Team, Mock Trial, Musicals/Plays, National Honor Society, Outdoor Pursuits, Overdrive (acapella group), Politics Club, Prom Committee, Science Olympiad, Strategy Club, Student Council, and Yearbook.
