City of Beloit Government Structure
The City of Beloit has a Council/ Manager form of local government. Under this form of government, the City Council establishes policies supporting the City’s mission statement and strategic plan. The City Manager then manages City Departments and staff to implement those goals in the most efficient manner. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council based on individual merits, expertise, and experience. The City of Beloit Clerk’s office is a dependable resource for information and services provided by the City of Beloit and various other organizations. This office organizes and administers all elections, voter registration (new resident may need to register) and provides support to the City Council, issues a variety of licenses and responds to open records requests. The City of Beloit’s Economic Development Department provides assistance in site selection searches it also provides economic data and statistics, relocation and expansion assistance for new or existing businesses.
